Tanzania Safari Guide

Day 1: Arrival

Rivertrees Country Inn

Dinner

• You will be received from Kilimanjaro International Airport and be taken to Rivertress Country Inn, alternatively to Maranga or Moshi.
• You shall Dine and sleep at your respective hotel.

Day 2: Rongai Forest

Full board

• After breakfast, you will be picked from your hotel and taken to Nalemoru Park to complete the formal proceeding of the park.
• You will begin the hiking from the park gate, through the pine and mountainous rainforest into the moorland.
• As you ascend to the Sekimba Camp which is 2,625m high you will be able to see many birds and monkeys
• You will have an afternoon nap, dine and spend the night at Sekimba Camp

Day 3: Kikelewa Moorland

Full Board

• You will further ascend through the forest up to Second Cave which is a large lava overhang and there you will have lunch
• From the moorlands ascend to Mawezi which is the second most important peak of Mount Kilimanjaro.
• You will dine and spend the night at Kikelewa Camp

Day 4: Mawenzi Tarn Hut

Full Board

• Following breakfast you will continue to climb up till you reach the rough peaks of Mawenzi Camp which is at a height of 4,300m
• Dine and sleep at Kikelewa Camp

Day 5: Outward Bound Hut

Full Board

• Walk to the Outward Bound Hut which is at 4,715m, between the peaks of Kibo and Mawenzi
• Enjoy the spectacular peak views of the icy Kibo and the stony Mawenzi
• Get ample rest, lunch and dinner at the camp in preparation to reach the summit the following day.

Day 6: Uhuru Peak

Breakfast and Lunch

• Wake up at midnight, for a quick snack and embark on a  long trek making use of your head torches till day break
• Trek past Hans Meyer’s cave to Gilman’s Point and here you will enjoy the stunning sunrise.
• In about 2 hours you will reach the highest mountain peak in Africa- Uhuru Peak
• After a short break of resting and taking photos, you will begin to descend down the hill.

Day 7: Descent to park gate

Breakfast and Lunch

• You will move further down, across the moorland through the forests, till the Mandara Hut for lunch
• Following some serious hiking, you will be at Marangu Gate in a maximum of 3 hours
• Bid farewell to your  care-takers and guides, then head back to your hotels and later proceed to Kilimanjaro International Airport
